About Wasatch Collect

Authorized and responsible use

Use Wasatch Collect only for lawful purposes and only with valid authority to access, collect, process, and disclose the devices and data involved. Obtain any required consent or other legal authorization, confirm the collection scope and recipients, and follow applicable privacy, employment, discovery, and preservation requirements. Possessing a device, password, or connection code does not by itself establish legal authority.

Do not use the service for unauthorized surveillance, harassment, unlawful access, infringement, or other unlawful activity. Do not bypass access controls, misuse another person's credentials, introduce malicious content, or disrupt the service. Keep account credentials, connection codes, backup passwords, and archive passwords confidential; use only the access needed for your role.

Confidentiality and collected data

Collections and exports may contain personal, privileged, or confidential information about multiple people. Limit access and sharing to authorized recipients, protect downloaded copies, and follow the responsible organization's retention and legal-hold instructions. Using Wasatch Collect does not transfer ownership of collected content to Wasatch; rights in that content remain with their respective holders.

Collected files and related records are processed by the service and made available to authorized workspace users. Hosting and network providers also process information to operate the service. HTTPS protects transfers, but does not mean every stored file or downloaded export is independently encrypted. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Downloading an archive or hiding a collection from the active list does not delete hosted files. Removal requires a separate authorized action; records, backups, and copies held by recipients may remain. Ordinary deletion is not secure erasure. Coordinate retention, access, and deletion requests with your case operator and Wasatch. See the Android Privacy Policy for Android-specific data practices and choices.

Intellectual property

Wasatch Collect's proprietary software, interface, documentation, and branding are owned by Wasatch eDiscovery LLC or its licensors. Access permits only the use authorized by your applicable service or license agreement; it does not transfer ownership of the software or grant rights to Wasatch names or logos.

Except as permitted by applicable law or an applicable license, do not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or reverse engineer the proprietary software, or remove copyright and other proprietary notices. These restrictions do not limit rights granted by third-party or open-source licenses.

Third-party software remains subject to its own licenses and notices. Where provided, accompanying notices and source distributions apply to those components. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners; references describe compatibility and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

Collection and review limitations

Results depend on the device, operating system, app version, permissions, selected scope, and available source data. A local backup is not a physical image of every byte on a phone. Cloud-only, deleted, inaccessible, or backup-excluded data may be absent, and app exports can omit history or media.

Review collection status, missing-source warnings, receipts, and export findings before relying on results. Verify important interpretations against the original data and preserve originals and provenance as required. Delivery checks establish transfer integrity, not the truth, completeness, or legal admissibility of the underlying content. Wasatch Collect does not provide legal advice or guarantee a particular evidentiary outcome.

Service terms and warranties

Except as expressly provided in an applicable written agreement and to the extent permitted by law, the software and service are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.

Your applicable service agreement governs fees, support commitments, warranties, liability, and other commercial terms. These notices do not replace that agreement or an applicable privacy policy, and do not exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
